Hola amigos! Yesterday I found a really neat treasure. I found the Original Cast recording of "Camelot", starring Richard Burton (surprisingly, he can sing!), Julie Andrews and Robert Goulet!! It's and excellent condition LP and wow does it sound great! I love Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe songs and lyrics. Better than Rogers and Hammenstien I think.
I still like My Fair Lady the best, written by the same duo.
And I want the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy soundtrack!! I got to hear snippets of almost every song down at Barnes and Noble yesterday. WAAAA I don't have fourteen buckaroos. I'll have to wait until my next pay check. Ho hum. But honestly, if you've read the book, the music is just as hilarious. And what a mix!! Vogon Poetry is a riot. The music is this delicate, pretty-in-pink sort of classical piece. Vogon Poetry (the poems, not the musical piece) is third worst in the whole galaxy, and the idea of the worst poetry being spoken to such lovely music is laugh-outloud hilarious! And the Destruction of Earth has over tones of the bombastic Star Wars theme, but is still hinting at something to laugh at. Which doesn't make much sense considering that Earth has just been blown to a million smithereens and unfortuately six billion people just went poof. But without Earth blowing up, there'd be no story, so there you go.
